Transitioning to FHS

If you are coming to FHS from middle school or another high school, you may have a lot of questions: What are the graduation requirements? Who can I go to for questions? What opportunities are there to learn more about the school? This page is a great first step!

Graduation Requirements

Below is an outline of the minimum graduation requirements. Overall, a student needs 106.5 credits to graduate with specific expectations for English, math, science, social studies, and wellness. Additionally, students need to earn a passing score in the Biology, Math, and ELA MCAS tests before graduation. Student Support Teams

As a student at FHS, you are automatically assigned a team to support your goals at school. You will be placed into a House office (1, 2, or 3) which includes an assistant principal, a school adjustment counselor, and a guidance counselor. While all members of a support team work to maximize the academic success, personal growth, and social/emotional welfare of each student, there are differences in the strengths of each role. Assistant Principals track attendance and discipline concerns. Guidance Counselors monitor students’ academic performance and long-term planning. School Adjustment Counselors support students’ social-emotional well-being as it relates to their ability to be successful in all areas of their school experience.
