Dear Parents/Guardians,

The federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires districts to annually notify parent/guardians of students who attend Title I schools that they may request information regarding certain professional qualifications of the student's classroom teacher(s).

Whether your child's teacher is licensed in the grade levels and subject areas they teach

Whether your child's teacher is teaching under an emergency license or waiver

The college degree and major of your child's teacher

Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications 

In Franklin, the Gerald M. Parmenter and the Helen Keller Elementary Schools receive Title I funds.  All classroom teachers in the Franklin Public Schools, including our Title I Schools, have Massachusetts teaching licenses and certification appropriate to their grade level and teaching assignment, and are highly qualified according to federal standards for teacher quality.
